September 26, 2013 This notification confirms that the release volume from Glen Canyon Dam for October 2013 will be 480,000 acre-feet. Hourly and daily average releases from Glen Canyon Dam for October 2013 will be scheduled through Western Area Power Administration to be consistent with the Glen Canyon Dam Operating Criteria (Federal Register, Volume 62, No. 41, March 3, 1997) and to also achieve, as nearly as is practicable, this monthly volume.

Hourly releases during October 2013 are anticipated to range between approximately 5,000 cfs during the nighttime hours of midnight to 6am and up to approximately 10,000 cfs during the day.

This notification supersedes all previously issued notifications and is current until a new notification is issued. All times identified in this notification are local time (Mountain Prevailing Time) and not hour ending.

We anticipate the release volume for November 2013 will be about 500,000 acre-feet. However, the release volume in November may be modified in the event a High-Flow Experiment, as described in the Environmental Assessment for Development and Implementation of a Protocol for High-Flow Experimental Releases from Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona, 2011 through 2020. The anticipated release volume for December is approximately 600,000 acre-feet. This will be confirmed in a subsequent notification toward the end of October.
