GCPBA RiverNews 11-25-13 - Help Sponsor a Wounded Warrior River Trip

The Grand Canyon River Runners Association has begun fundraising to sponsor a June, 2015, Grand Canyon boating trip for members of a United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment.  This is a special opportunity for a most deserving group of veterans who have sacrificed so much in their service to our country.  It will be the experience of a lifetime for people who never dreamed they would have the opportunity.

GCRRA is putting together a charter trip for a specific group of wounded warriors, and is working directly with the commanding officer of one specific wounded warrior regiment.  The GCRRA board member spearheading this project is a Marine Lt. Col. (retired).  He has a lot of 'cred' in military circles and has easy access, and a direct line, to actual wounded warriors, as opposed to working through an outside organization.   There is no middle man.  100% of the donations will go toward getting these participants on the river.  GCRRA is going to cover any administrative incidentals, like Paypal fees.

The outfitter to be chosen for this trip will have had extensive experience aiding persons with disabilities in rafting the Colorado River.

More information about this trip and the project is available here, along with a Paypal link for donations:
